Insight Off The Beaten Track – Roe Restaurant

At Insight Hospitality we are always on the lookout for exciting products, suppliers, Artisan companies and offering our support to local businesses.

Our journey this week takes us to an eagerly anticipated new opening in Canary Wharf.

Roe is a modern and spacious restaurant in the heart of Wood Wharf from the team behind the critically acclaimed sister restaurant Fallow St James’s and FOWL with the same nose to tail and root to stem ethos.

Conscious and creative dining meets hospitality experience and passion. From a trio of  gentleman. Chefs Jack Croft and William Murray, and career entrepreneur James Robson.

Cuttlefish fried toast, pork skin, sesame, chilli jam

Crispy fried toast flavoured with cuttle paste, topped with crispy pork scratchings and a dipping sauce of sweet and spicy XO chilli jam.

Chicken thigh, lamb sweetbread, satay and Rare breed pork, Thai basil, chilli skewers

Contrasting sweetness of the chicken thigh and tenderness of the sweetbread, finished with a satay sauce delivering a delight kick of heat.

Crispy marinated pork belly, complimented by flavoursome Thai basil and chilli.

Caramelised banana parfait, peanut, toasted vanilla

An absolutely amazing zero waste dessert, technically brilliant, a banana parfait, filled with banana jam and caramel in the form of a banana, roasted peanuts, peanut ice cream and what appears to look like a crisp twig from banana skin. Served with a banana skin caramel and crisp sable crumb.
