Insight Off The Beaten Track Jiyū

@Insight Hospitality we are always on the lookout for exciting products, suppliers, Artisan companies and offering our support to local businesses.

Our journey this week takes us to recently opened Jiyū in Pitch Wharf on Churchill Place in the heart of the capitals vibrant financial district.

A concept developed for our clients “Pitch”. We created the brand “Jiyū” as a modern Asian Kitchen.

Open to the public in a stunning setting, spread over across 14,500 square foot of indoor and outdoor space.

Designed by Atelier Wren designated spaces to lounge, play and dine are brought to life with low level lighting, patterned upholstery, marble tables and geometrical bar fronts, transitioning from chill out to party throughout the evening with the coordinated lighting scheme, complimenting the vinyl records on display from the two bespoke DJ booths.

It’s a place where all are welcome, featuring a private members’ area, waterside terrace, a Trendy Golf concept store, shuffleboards, two bars and much more.

Pitch ensures there’s something for everyone to enjoy, with the well-stocked bars open seven days a week, late-night DJ slots, it’s a venue for great food, fun and relaxation.

Spicy Vegetarian Dumplings, Red Chilli Sauce

Straw mushrooms, water chestnuts, spring onions, green chilli’s, sake and soy in a light vegetable wrapper, lightly steamed, the dumplings had a real kick to them, fragrant and spicy.

Served with a fiery red chilli sauce, garnished with chilli, spring onion and coriander.

Chicken Karaage Burger, Kewpie Mayo

A toasted sesame seed bun with a yuzu, tamari, soy and ginger flavoured slaw.

Topped with chicken pieces marinated in soy and ginger, coated with Japanese breadcrumbs, deep fried, finished with Kewpie mayonnaise.

This was extremely moreish, the slaw adding a nice contrast to the crispy chicken pieces.

Jackfruit Jungle Curry

Chunks of jackfruit, cooked in a lightly spiced katsu curry sauce.

It was topped with crispy toasted coconut flakes, spring onion, chilli and coriander.

We added a side of Jasmine rice which was a perfect accompaniment.

Delicious small plates, perfect for sharing, fresh ingredients and unique combinations, simply presented. With a good mix of plant based and gluten free options.
