Our journey this week takes us to recently opened Wildflowers Restaurant in Pimlico.

Located in Newson’s Yard, just behind Pimlico Road, Chef Aaron Potter and partner interior stylist Laura Hart have opened Wildflowers a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant through its food and decor. Aaron previously Head Chef of Elysian Street is bringing seasonal, high-quality ingredients to life through cooking over  a large cast iron charcoal grill.

Upstairs, a wine bar offers a handpicked selection of European wines and spritzes, paired with cicchetti-style bar snacks, a perfect space to relax.

Moules Farcies, Garlic & Parsley Butter

Beautiful lightly steamed mussels topped with a garlic and parsley butter, what could be simpler, devoured so quickly we could easily have eaten another portion.

Gnocco Fritto, Gorgonzola, Coppa, Truffle Honey

A crisp fried pastry parcel filled with gorgonzola, topped with coppa and finished with a drizzle of truffle honey was crisp, melt in the mouth, oozing with the molten cheese and full of flavour.

Sugar Pit Pork Rack, Quince, Almond & Gremolata

A generous portion of sugar pit pork, cooked over coals, caramelised fat, beautifully cooked, served with its juices, caramelised quince, and with a sharp flavoursome gremolata. The flavour and perfect cooking stood out, I would go back for this dish alone.
